Review of 4' Cedar Porch Glider W/stained Finish, Amish Crafted

I put this glider together, by myself, during a snow storm.I plan to keep it on my porch, so I decided to have faith that spring was indeed coming.

The parts went together easily, even putting it together alone.The only complaint is that the screws required a square-ended tool and I only had screwdrivers and hex keys.I managed, though.

It is very comfortable and I look forward to using it often when the weather warms.

This porch swing is well-made, not hard to assemble (if you have any mechanical sense about you), and very comfortable to sit in.There is some work in the assembly, but no major construction - you just have to bolt on the arm rests and the chain, and hang it of course.Nice color, too.

Review of Entryway Bench with 3 Baskets/Cushions - White

No skimping on the packaging.Having furniture shipped I readily expected damaged corners.But there is so much packaging that I need not have worried.I would have called it overkill, but who am I to complain?

The only warning I have... the baskets have an incredibly strong odor of unsmoked tobacco.I don't know what kind of plant the basket is made out of or perhaps it's the stain.However I'm hoping the smell dies down after an airing out.I WOULD buy this product again knowing this.

These are the greatest furniture covers. The rocker cover is big enough to completely cover my teak rocker, including the rails contrary to the picture...it goes all the way to the ground. It is sturdy, attractive and keeps my furniture clean and dry throughout the year.The handles make it easier to position and remove the cover on the furniture. I have owned the chaise covers for about a year and find that when they get dirty, they are easy to clean with rag, some water and a touch of liquid dish soap if necessary.

We thankfully purchased this chair knowing that we were going to repaint it a different color.It is made of multiple wood type (which do not blend even under the white paint) and the paint job was very poor (there were paint globs in many locations).The wood itself had cracked (over 1 inch in length) in two seperate places (both very visable).I would not buy a chair from this company again.

Review of Outdoor Patio Furniture: 3-Seater Canopy Swing

I love this swing, though it is my first, so I am no expert. The color is beautiful and looks nice with my sky blue house. The canopy adjusts easily, I move it a few times a day for the sun, and the stars. Three people can sit side by side. The little pillows attach very securely with velcro to the frame, and have not blown away in Wyoming wind. They are a bit small though and slip under the arm when you are trying to use them, a full sized pillow is much more comfortable on it. When it rains the seat dries very quickly. It is comfortable to sit and lie down on, and it lays flat easily too. Two can lie on it fairly comfortably. I have slept out there happily. It is light enough for me to move on my own, if I drag one side then the other. It does squeak a bit when I rock more than gently, though I haven'ttried greasing it.
I put it together on my own, at night with the porch light, and it was ok, though a second person and more light would probably be a good idea. (I was just too excited.) The directions are clear, with only a couple of spots where something can be backwards and need flipped around, but you will notice a couple of steps later, lol. This swing needs to be on level ground or the seat will list over to the frame and scrape against it.The rocking motion is easy to start, and soothes well.

I purchased my swing at a local hardware store.It came boxed flat with some assembly required.Very easy to assemble.I chose to paint mine to match the trim of my house.The product came already sanded so it was ready to paint.Mine was purchased to replace a swing hanging from a fixture in my yard.The old swing seemed to be exactly the same make and model, and it came with my house I purchased 15 years ago.The old swing looked old already when I bought the house, so it survived pretty well.

Review of Southern Country Oak Finish Wood Plantation Porch Rocker/Rocking Chair

I bought two for my porch.These rockers are made in Indonesia and require assembly.

Assembly takes about 15 minutes, fairly easy.Instructions are pictures and not words.Seat simply lays in and is not bolted down.

Comfort is OK - I'm 6 feet tall and the chairs are just a tad small for me.

Rockers look good from the street.

I needed two ten foot benches to fill an area on my patio. I purchased 3 sets of bench ends and used 3 bench ends per bench, 1 on each end and 1 in the middle. It worked really well. The product specifies to use 2 x 4's for bench seat, back and supports but I used 5/4" cedar decking for the seat and back and used 2 x 4's for the supports. This is a very reasonable cost way to have a lot of seating.

Review of 2x4basics AnySize Chair or Bench Ends, Sand

I just finished assembling a 2x4basics AnySize Bench 11200 and am very happy with it.The bench assembly took a little longer than I thought it would.I think I worked on it for about two hours.I wasn't counting on having to drill pilot holes for the dozens of screws (included) that had to be used putting the bench together.Nor did I figure on spending so much time figuring out how to best sink the screws into the underside of the boards.Don't worry about slanting the screws into the wood a bit.It is impossible to get a drill into a perfect position for making a 90 degree hole.Most of the screws do not show anyhow.

It was necessary to tip the bench over in order drill pilot holes and to get at the screws.I had to clamp the 2x4's to the plastic/composite ends to keep them from falling off or moving out of position.I would recommend using a couple of small carpentry clamps to hold things in place while putting the bench together.

I had the 2x4's sanded and painted prior to attaching them to the plastic/composite ends so that took a little time, but probably not more than an additional hour.That probably saved time in the long run.Making this bench with the 2x4 basics kit is not a difficult project.

The 2x4 basics bench is solid and not all that heavy, but it isn't going to blow over in a high wind.I am quite satisfied with how the bench came out and somewhat surprised at how substantial it is.I thought it might twist and perhaps wiggle side to side--nope, it is a rock.

I am so pleased with this approach to building patio furniture that I will be recommending the product to friends.

Review of Jack Post Jennings Traditional 5-Foot Swing Seat in Unfinished Solid Fir with Hang Chain

The swing looks beautiful and is easy to put together but it is not very sturdy, you can feel the back give when you sit down and the boards are narrow and thin. I would not want any more than about 200 lb or so on this swing and kids bouncing on it might damage it. I feel there should have been a support in the center and the boards should have been a little thicker.

Review of Mooreana 4-pc Wicker Deep Seating Set

This set of furniture was the hardest store bought item I have ever tried to put together, and I have done many.Not one of the screw holes lined up the way they should have.Many were already stripped, the furniture itself had to be bent to align the holes properly.It was an hour job that took close to 4 hours.Unless you have a garage full of large clamps I would not recommend this item.I would have returned this item if it did not involve getting a truck to come pick it up, I already wasted enough time on it.As it sits now on my patio it is held together with wire ties and retapped screw holes that are barely holding!
